CatalogCo is a music earnings intelligence platform for catalog owners, labels, and managers. LambdaWorks built the data infrastructure: ingesting large volumes of royalty and financial statements from fragmented sources, normalizing them into consistent records, and surfacing the performance insights that inform catalog valuation and investment decisions.
The fragmentation problem in music finance
Royalties from everywhere, in every formatRoyalty statements arrive from streaming platforms, PROs, distributors, and publishers - in inconsistent formats, on different schedules, with terminology that varies by territory and rights type. There is no standard.
Capital allocation with incomplete dataEvaluating catalog performance means either hiring analysts to manually reconcile data, or making investment decisions with incomplete information.

Starting with discovery
LambdaWorks ran product discovery alongside CatalogCo's founding team before building. Discovery focused on the data model: what sources needed to be ingested, how inconsistencies should be resolved, and what the output needed to look like.
Getting the data model right before building the reporting layer is the difference between a platform that works and one that produces unreliable output.
What we built
Data ingestion layer - Handles large volumes of financial data from varied source formats. Streaming platform statements, PRO reports, distributor summaries - normalized into a consistent processing pipeline.
Normalization pipeline - Transforms inconsistent royalty data into structured, comparable records. Catalog performance becomes legible across rights types, territories, and time periods.
Clean backend architecture - Core systems designed for reliability and maintainability. Architecture that supports evolving data sources and new reporting requirements without rebuilding from scratch.
Earnings intelligence - Performance visualization and trend analysis. Catalog owners and investors see what the data actually shows - not what could be approximated from manual reconciliation.
