WHAT THIS IS

The Modernization Diagnostic + Pilot is a 6-8 week engagement for teams dealing with legacy systems that are slowing them down. Reliability issues, scaling limits, hiring difficulty, compliance pressure. The symptoms are familiar.

A full rewrite is risky and hard to justify without proof. We fix that. You get a clear picture of what you have, a roadmap for what to do about it, and one pilot that shows it works, all before you commit to the full modernization.

HOW IT WORKS

Diagnose. Pilot. Decide.

Weeks 1–2
Diagnostic

Codebase review, infrastructure assessment, stakeholder interviews, risk and dependency mapping

Week 3
Roadmap & Pilot Selection

Prioritized roadmap delivery, pilot module selection, executive alignment

Weeks 4–7
Pilot Implementation

Modernize selected module, parallel testing with existing system, performance benchmarking

Week 8
Impact Report & Handoff

Before/after metrics comparison, executive presentation, knowledge transfer

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything that's included.

Technical assessment report (architecture, code quality, infrastructure, security)
Risk and dependency map
Prioritized modernization roadmap with architecture diagrams
One production pilot: working modernized module deployed to production
Impact measurement report (before/after metrics)
Executive presentation with recommendations
Technical documentation and handoff documentation
WHO THIS IS FOR

Legacy systems don't fix themselves.

Enterprise innovation leaders

You have a legacy system and board pressure to modernize, but limited internal capacity to do it safely. We give you the roadmap, the proof point, and the executive materials to move forward.

Growth-stage product leaders

Technical debt accumulated fast and now it's blocking growth. You need a clear picture of what to fix and in what order before committing engineering time to a multi-year migration.

FAQ

Common questions about modernization.

Because modernization decisions made without a full picture are expensive to undo. The diagnostic phase takes two weeks and surfaces risks, dependencies, and quick wins you wouldn't find otherwise. Every decision in the pilot and the roadmap is better because of it.

We select based on two criteria: highest potential impact (performance, reliability, or cost) and lowest risk (lowest dependency complexity, most self-contained). We align with your team on the selection before we start building.

Yes. The pilot is a standalone deliverable. After the impact report, you can use the roadmap to execute incrementally over time, bring in your own team, or continue with us. There is no obligation to continue.

The impact report is built for a non-technical audience. It covers what was assessed, what was found, what was piloted, and what the measurable results were, in business terms. We design it to be presentable to leadership as justification for the next phase of investment.

Modernization involves a lot of predictable work: refactoring patterns, test generation, documentation. AI agents handle that layer. Our engineers focus on architecture decisions, dependency resolution, and system design. Same quality, faster execution.
