Lambert

The Slack Office Botler for Everyday Team Loose Ends

Our roleProduct design, Slack app development, backend architecture, public launch, support
Lambert is a LambdaWorks-built Slack office utility bot. It helps teams handle the small workplace tasks that usually scatter across Slack messages: settling colleague debts, running polls, rolling or picking random options, sending birthday notifications, collecting swear jar contributions, and organizing Secret Santa.

The problem every office accumulates

The gap between toolsEvery tech company has tasks that live between systems: too small for an HR platform, too frequent to handle manually, too important to let fall through the cracks.
Build it, don't buy itAt LambdaWorks, that category became large enough to justify building something. The answer wasn't to find another SaaS product - it was to build exactly what was needed.

What we built

Serverless backend - Lambert runs on a serverless backend that services Slack commands and requests, with a facade layer handling the Slack integration. New tasks and workflows can be added as needs evolve without rebuilding from scratch. Office utility features - The public product includes colleague debt tracking, a swear jar, polls, roll-or-pick-random commands, birthday notifications, random image/video search, and Secret Santa coordination. Built to last - Lambert continues to evolve as the team's needs change. Every feature exists because someone at LambdaWorks actually needed it.

Why Lambert matters

Lambert is intentionally small, but it is a real product: a clear audience, a public site, Slack installation, product analytics, support, and a working backend. That matters because many useful products are not giant platforms. They are precise tools that remove repeated friction from an existing workflow. For LambdaWorks, Lambert is also a useful reference for Slack integration work. It shows the full path from an everyday operational problem to a shipped Slack app: product framing, UX, backend workflows, OAuth installation, launch, and support.
